In Memoriam: Louis Henkin

By: , , , ,

For many years, Louis Henkin played an invaluable role for the Columbia Journal of Transnational Law, first as a member of the Board of Directors and more recently as a member of the Board of Advisors. As a professor, mentor and friend, he was a source of advice and encouragement for students and practitioners interested in pursuing international or comparative law. As a scholar, he created a discipline in which academic inquiry has led to a more dignified life for untold people across the world. We join Professor Henkin’s many colleagues, pupils and admirers in remembering his exemplary life and in mourning his passing on October 14, 2010.
